One Year of Impact: Igniting Futures and Empowering Teenagers in Lagos
What a year it’s been! Over the past twelve months, our mission has burned brightly: to ignite purpose, build self-awareness, and empower teenagers in Lagos to make informed decisions about their future. We’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible potential within these young minds, and we’re thrilled to share the journey of impact we’ve embarked on together.
Our first step was the Alagbado School Outreach, where we connected with secondary school students, sparking initial conversations about their aspirations and helping them cultivate self-belief. The sheer curiosity and enthusiastic engagement we encountered confirmed a vital need – the conversation couldn’t stop there.
This profound realization fueled the creation of the Achieve Greatness Mentorship Program. For six transformative weeks, we extended our reach across 15 schools, guiding students in purpose discovery, personal growth, and the power of visioning. This impactful program was brought to life through the generous sponsorship of @yemidavids and @globalimpactng, utilizing their insightful book, “Achieve Greatness: Vision, Purpose and Personal Development.” We saw students begin to articulate their dreams and develop concrete steps to achieve them.
Beyond the classroom, we proudly celebrated International Women’s Day by hosting the Inspire Girls Forum, a powerful event dedicated to reminding young girls of their limitless potential and encouraging them to dream without boundaries. The energy and connection in that space were truly inspiring.
Understanding the importance of holistic well-being, we also marked Menstrual Hygiene Day through a meaningful partnership with @safeandhappygang. Together, we provided crucial menstrual health education and distributed essential sanitary pads, ensuring these young individuals can focus on their education with dignity and confidence.
Our mission remains steadfast: to equip teenagers with the essential tools they need to discover their purpose and navigate life with unwavering confidence. We believe in a future where every teenager has the opportunity to thrive, and this first year has laid a strong foundation for that vision.
